Last race of the year! Was a bit cold, but with the wind lighter than we expected it wasnt too bad. Sea Turtle was R/C tonight and ran Course #2 (Turtle Island and back.
On board the Tri-again we had 2 nieces, 2 sisters, grandpa, and my self. Erica was at the helm. I botched the start, but the boat recovered quicker than expected and by halfway to Turtle claimed the lead. We somehow was able to ward off the advances of "Bad Idea" and finish first. So we begin and end the series with a bullet! And most important, grandpa ( the owner of the Tri-Again) is with a big grin after winning with 4 of his girls on board!
In slightly related news (well very related actually) Another of the Stange Family was on the course and bringing up the rear of the fleet. They are convinced they have something stuck on their keel, or perhpaps it is acutally falling apart. My theory is that the Lake Erie Monster has taken refuge on it and has been dragging about the Maumee Bay on this poor little boat. We should start a wager pool and see what they find when its hauled out. I bet that if they find nothing we wont see the boat next year. |
